I wanted to share some exciting progress we've made in the past few days! We've received acknowledgment from the Honorary Consulate of Brazil in Western Australia, who has forwarded our correspondence to the Brazilian embassy for their review. This is a significant step forward in our efforts to bring attention to the need for a Social Security Agreement between Australia and Brazil.

Over the last day, I have also reached out to several key Australian government officials to seek their support, including:

Senator Penny Wong: Minister for Foreign Affairs
Tim Watts: Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs
Amanda Rishworth: Minister for Social Services
I am following up with Centrelink to confirm the specifics regarding my personal situation, but the broader goal remains the same: to advocate for a policy that will benefit many Australians living or planning to live in Brazil, ensuring they receive the support they are entitled to.

Next steps include continuing outreach to more diplomatic bodies, government officials, and community organizations. I will also be exploring opportunities to spread awareness during Brazil Week events in Australia, including potentially attending and distributing flyers with a QR code to our petition, but I have not recived anything, but I have sent an email asking.
