Thank you so much for the support! I accidentally promoted anonymously yesterday so the picture is to confirm the cans I collected went to the petition.
So now is the right time to get things really rolling. This platform is more to raise awareness and clearly there are enough people that agree with the cause for me to believe we will get this changed. I am going to begin the process of submitting the petition to the House of Commons website. I'm reaching out to an MP that I believe will sponsor this petition and if he will, I will need 5 - 10 of you that are want to show your support and help make this change by providing your name and contact info on the official petition. Once it's submitted, the Clerk of Petitions will examine it to make sure it follows all rules and guidelines and than I will ask everybody that showed there support on this platform to add there name, postal code and email to the House of Commons Petition.
This process is going to take a couple months and I plan on continuing to walk, donate the cans I cans and plastic bottles I pick up and spread awareness almost everyday. I am going to start a gofundme account to put my contributions in and so others can contribute to the fund as well.
I can do one update every 24 hours so I'll keep you posted everyday.
Your support means so much to myself (as well as my little boy when he's old enough to understand) and is paving the way to help many people in the near future who need the support to protect their kids.
The plan is to keep spreading awareness through this platform and gathering as many supports and signatures as possible while the other process begins. The more signatures on here, the easier it will be to show the government that this is something that we as Canadians are entitled to and fathers don't deserve to have to go be in situations where they need to choose between homelessness to protect their children from witnessing physical and emotional abuse or staying silent and trapped in the vicious cycle of abuse . I truly believe that everything happens for a reason and this is my reason for what I personally experienced.
Thanks again and I'll update tomorrow!
