It is a world of suffering - for parents unfairly torn from their children and for children who have lost a loving parent in their life. Not even people who have actually abused their children get such a raw deal. All the while our children are suffering emotional abuse by this severing of the attachment bond, by having to take on a persona that is hostile, by battling depression without being able to vocalize it, by having their voices silenced and having to like it, by carrying on the stories of transgenerational trauma, while emotionally regulating and looking after the alienating parent.

We need better laws. We need protection for targeted parents to stop this abuse. This is not a gender issue - it happens to both men and women. We need society to understand this issue. We need to stop this heartbreak.
