First-hand accounts from victims of unthinkable violence paint a gruesome picture of the brutality sweeping the eastern DRC. How long is the West prepared to look away?

Our call for an independent inquiry into the Kishishe massacre has gone unheeded. What happens when the world looks away from gross human rights violations? Indeed, perpetrators are emboldened and intensify their crimes. We see what Netanyahu does in Gaza, we see what Kagame does in neighbouring DRC. But strangely enough, petitions like ours do not obtain the number of signatures needed to give legitimacy to follow-up actions. And yet, suffering in the area is becoming more intense than ever. What a weird paradox, isn't it?
