The LDC Initiative organized a meeting with eight Caribbean and Latin-American Ambassadors. Their comments and questions strengthened the vision of the Initiative and their suggestions of possible next steps to move forward with the petition to the UN were very helpful. They supported the Initiative and they pledged to promote it at their Embassies and within their communities. In addition to the Ambassadors, Honorable William Zard Abou Jaoude, the chairman of our Supervisory committee, was also present. Moreover, the Advisory committee is now complete, with five distinguished committee members representing the major Lebanese communities: Princess Hayat Arslan of the Druze community, H.E. Ambassador William Habib of the Orthodox community, H.E. Edmond Rizk of the Maronite community, Ali Beik Osseiran of the Shi’a community, and H.E. former minister Dr. Bahige Tabbarah of the Sunni community; Excellencies Rizk and Habib were also present at the meeting with the Ambassadors at Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU).
