Dear Supporters:
Help us show the need for a skatepark in Hartsville by coming to our Skate Day Event on June 21 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Byerly Park near TB Thomas. Bring your skateboards, scooters, roller skates, roller blades, BMX, WCMX Wheelchair. We will have skate ramps and obstacles. We are inviting the news media and will be filming promotional videos. By showing up, you will be directly impacting the likelihood of building a park because we need to show that the public would make use of a skate park. Thank you for all your help so far. We are over 1000 Signatures on our petition! More details below about the event as well as a FB Link. You can also help by joining the event and sharing on your social media feeds. More details are forthcoming on vendors, activities, raffles, and music.
Go Skateboarding Day was created by the International Association of Skateboard Companies (IASC) in 2004, to promote events around the world to help make skateboarding more accessible, get individuals outdoors and moving, and encourage more people to skate for the first time. https://www.goskate.com/top/go-skateboarding-day/
The event is being brought to the community by a local grass-roots organization called Sk8Hartsville in order to introduce kids, youth, and adults to skating.
SK8Hartsville is a local organization dedicated to bringing a safe, admission-free, inclusive and family orientated skate park facility for skateboarders, scooter riders, roller bladers, roller skates, BMX, and WCMX (Wheelchair Motocross) to Hartsville.
