Update on Hillside Dog Park!

First off, thank you everybody for your support! It has made a big difference in our messaging and being able to present options to City Hall for getting this project going.
As I'm sure you know, things move slowly for these kinds of projects, but we've gotten the first major steps done and are working towards getting the next phase underway.
A few weeks ago, some other neighborhood folks and I presented the idea to the Medford parks commission. Good news! They are in support of a dog park in general and are very open to helping us make this happen.
Our next steps are to contact a few folks at City Hall to better understand the approval process, look at similar projects in the area, and come back to them with a more detailed proposal. They are asking for more specifics around size, location, materials, features, and expected costs.
We have the right contacts and are working on finalizing some additional plans.
In the meantime, I would ask that folks continue to share this petition, the more support the better, and to talk to folks in the neighborhood about it. If you know people that maybe aren't on board, or opposed to a dog park, it's a great opportunity to share why it would help the neighborhood and make a better experience for everybody. Tired dogs are happy dogs and having a designated space means that folks that aren't dog lovers don't have to deal with acti8ve, loud, or socially starved dogs trying to interact with them!
I'll keep everybody posted as developments occur, we're hoping to revive the Medford Dog Commission as well, so that's exciting too!
Thanks again for all of the support!
