Bridging the gap: More tests needed for historic bridge
The ‘Save our Bridge’ campaign, which has been supported by SAVE, is continuing the fight to spare the 19th-century Boxted Bridge from the bulldozers. Campaigners are calling on Essex Highways to carry out necessary tests on the structure to fully understand options for its repair and restoration. Last month the dynamic load tests recommended by specialist conservation engineers were cancelled in favour of static tests, which campaigners say simply isn’t good enough. Read More
