Sincere thanks to Cllr Tom Cunningham, ECC Portfolio Holder for Highways, for agreeing to come on a site visit today to see the bridge for himself. We felt it really important for him to appreciate the setting of the bridge in the surrounding, protected, Dedham Vale National Landscape and the three single lane approach roads. This cannot be fully appreciated whilst looking at bridge drawings back at County Hall in Chelmsford.
The meeting was attended by representatives from Boxted Parish Council, Karen Thompson, Jon Hunt and Arabella Brentnall, Anne Brown, Planning Officer for the Dedham Vale Society, Suffolk County Cllr James Finch, Colchester City Cllrs Lewis Barber and Darius Law, Babergh District Ward Cllr for Bures St Mary and Nayland, Isabelle Rees, Stoke by Nayland Parish Cllr Martin Nielsen, Arrabella Douglas-Menzies, Lucinda de Jasay, and Essex Highways Structural engineers.
