Barricade on Boxted bridge

Following the emergency bridge closure last week Highways dumped 11 tons of concrete blocks on the “unsafe” bridge yesterday and added a further plastic “wonder wall” on top which will be monitored every day to make sure that no one has broken through. 

Those 11 ton blocks equate to 1 grand slam bomb (Barnes Wallis), 20 grand pianos, or, taking the average weight of a man as 200 pounds, 110 men, yet the bridge has been closed even to the extent of the odd passing pedestrian and cyclist.
