William Street in Lancaster has gone from a rural country road to a major road connecting many new subdivisions, schools, fire departments, and a county park to the community. This two lane road can no longer handle the traffic load that currently exists and with narrow shoulders and no sidewalks. It presents a safety hazard to pedestrians and drivers alike. I sent a letter to County Executive Mark Poloncarz asking him to work with the Legislature to widen the road but unfortunately I did not receive an acceptable response that takes into account any major safety concerns. I'm asking residents to sign this petition calling on the County Executive to work with us to fix this issue before tragedy occurs.
