We need a resolution and a special exception for our community treehouse proposed by the City of Kenosha Wisconsin to be accepted. This includes the 25ft allowance proposed by the city along with previous inspections made 3 years ago and currently. We recently obtained all the required permits to fulfill the ordinances for having a treehouse.

We care about keeping the treehouse because it truly is Kenosha's Treehouse, there is not a single person, race, sex, color, or religion we have denied to enjoy it. It has been a bridge builder for the of love of greater community at large. The treehouse has made a way for many of the neighbors to meet and have a exciting activities to do outside. We have been able to create many personal relationships and strengthen previous ones through this build.  It would be horrible to remove such a landmark in Kenosha. So many people have taken interest in one another by such meetings and further business between local community has been made available.  We have been joyfully spending countless time helping teach numerous kids how to use the zipline while watching over them as they played. It would be a shame to remove something that got countless young minds interested in the trades again. There have been zero safety concerns while we had the multitudes of kids enjoy the day here.  This tree house has allowed many people in the community to actually be a community. I had 8 different men volunteer time to help build this treehouse so that even their own families could enjoy it as well. The way that 8 different skilled tradesman came together to make this city a even better place is a true blessing, one in which sets a example to the entire city of Kenosha and world at large. This building is evidence that people can work together in faith exercising their 27 constitutional amendment rights to build good activities for the community to appreciate while sparking ideas in the hearts and minds of the youth to see unity in craftsmanship, creative work, and community projects. This will forever go down in history as a success for over three years it was used even making it to the TMJ4 & CBS58 news with follow up opportunities. We have countless videos and pictures enjoying the treehouse with others. The treehouse while on Airbnb for one season brought in many tourists who got to blog, vlog,  journal, visit, and promote their adventures in local Kenosha restaurants, shops, and attractions to the rest of the world. We as hosts got to refer the tourists to many downtown attractions only further promoting our love for the people in this city. This Treehouse transformed into away to bring tourists in from Germany, China, Colorado, Chicago, & ect.

The city recently had a public hearing in which imposed huge burden on my wife and I and our two precious daughters. They chose to disagreed with us because of the fact that we had the treehouse  still listed on Airbnb. We never had anyone stay in the treehouse since the order by the city.  Now we did have it listed but we would tell guests they could use our own home for the stay and get to enjoy the treehouse whenever they wanted as a deal. They rejected the previous 25ft exception to even raise the grade if needed, even though the structure is up to coded and our building is not taller than the house. Recently at the public hearing, we only built the structure based off of previous approvals and available financing, their was one discrepancy between the structure being called a treehouse versus being called a accessory building being entirely built in the tree or using the tree as bracing. Immediately after the project was complete we did have inspectors look at the property with our consent. Then we found out city inspectors had visual information about the treehouse without our consent being alerted by a supposed neighborhood complaint, our treehouse was immediately marked unsafe for use. I am unsure if our fourth amendment rights were truly violated during this process.

If we lose we must remove 8 ft of the treehouse. We are asking for help if that's the outcome. We would need help from the community or city to take down those 8ft to come into compliance. We have incurred over $1,170 in fees and fines so far that the city continues to impose on right standing "common" (what legally we are called but I believe everyone is highly valuable, special and peculiar) citizens.
