Dear Angels Flight Friends and Neighbors, Thank you for your continued support of Angels Flight Railway. We write to pull your sleeve to some good news about the adjacent property, Angels Knoll. In recent months, this shady hill, which is closed to the public, has become an eyesore, with a lot of garbage dumped around. Earlier this month we spoke with city staff and learned that the cleaning contract, which had accidentally lapsed, has been renewed. And a few days back, we visited Angels Flight and saw the L.A. Conservation Corps hard at work packing out dozens of sacks of trash. Meanwhile, at the base of the funicular, some frustrated citizen has erected an official-looking sign reading CLOSED DUE TO GOVERNMENT NEGLECT. If you’d like to learn more about the history of Angels Flight, and the challenges currently facing it, tune in to the latest episode of The Hidden History of Los Angeles podcast at the link below: http://app.stitcher.com/splayer/f/81357/48082959 What's next for Angels Flight? The non-profit board continues its efforts to produce a design for a track-side walkway as required by the state regulators. We'll let you know when there's more news to share. Viva Angels Flight!
