Hello, everyone. I hope you had a great year. The 2025 Super Bowl, Super Bowl LIX on Sunday, February 9, 2025 at the Caesar Superdome in New Orleans, is just five weeks away. It will be aired live on FOX. 

I resurrected this petition to post an update. Sadly, it looks like the ASL performers-Stephanie Nogueras, Matt Maxey and Otis Jones IV- will once again be featured on a separate channel (need a link to access it) and not on stage or picture-in-picture at this year's game.  

PR Newswire on 11/28/24 stated: "The Super Bowl pregame entertainment and Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show will also feature American Sign Language (ASL) performances. Stephanie Nogueras will perform the "Star-Spangled Banner" and "America the Beautiful," Otis Jones IV will sign "Lift Every Voice and Sing," and Matt Maxey will deliver the ASL rendition of the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show. The ASL pregame performances and the ASL Halftime show will be supported by Alexis Kashar of LOVE SIGN and Howard Rosenblum of Deaf Equality."

Despite 8,787 signatures I have not heard anything from the decisionmakers to whom the petition was addressed last year: the NFL, Fox Broadcasting Company, Fox Sports, NBC, CBS, ESPN, Las Vegas Super Bowl Committee, nor National Assn. of the Deaf (NAD).  The New Orleans Super Bowl Host Committee will be added this year.

This petition is not officially closed until its requests have been met.  I encourage petitioners and those concerned continue to call and write the decisionmakers, post videos and share the petition. I especially encourage members of the Deaf community to post ASL vlogs & add them to the petition.

We're tired and frustrated. But accessibility at this event, which last year had a viewership of over 123 million last year, the most watched telecast of all time, is a worthy goal. Thanks for your continued support.
