In the annual Fitness to Practice report for this last financial year ( 2021 - 2022 ) it was stated:

5291 new concerns were raised,

1448 were investigated

all for the bargain spend of £42 million 

Each nurse pays an annual fee to the NMC of £120

That's a lot of nurse and midwives fees
