After almost 4 years since the incident, we are now starting conversations with the NMC about one of our members case which is slowly moving forward towards a hearing.
The initial allegations were extremely vague, large in number but fundamentally comments on the case scenarios rather than allegations
We pushed back on behalf of the registrant and asked the NMC to review the charges - back came more concise, less in numbers and more evidence based.
We wonder what would have happened if we hadn't been involved?
This nurse is already saying they don't think they will continue in the profession once the case is closed - despite having been working successfully for another service without incident but the damage is done and she feels that even found with no case to answer her love of the job has gone.
To date the hearing is set for 13 days in person - we will talk to the NMC about how viable and fair this is for a registrant already financially compromised.
We hope that she will get a good option that will at least allow her to take her time to make the right decision for her
She will rely on donations to assist her self funding her legal support and expenses associated with having to travel and stay in London for 3 weeks
