
Yesterday we attended the Westminster Health Forum
The meeting was attended by all the main regulators including Charlie Massey from the GMC and Clare Strickland from the NMC
Rinesh Parmar spoke about why the GMC needs to take responsibility for the training and reinstatement of doctors who are automatically struck off upon conviction but later have these overturned.
All the regulators are keen to automatically erase registrants when there are convicted of a serious crime but there seems to be no process to deal with them if their conviction is then overturned.
