A Quick Update

Venne remains under supervision. Pertaining to my last post that I just saw and never gave an update, he was not arrested after the warrant issued, but remained on the Super Intensive Supervision Program (SISP) until just recently. Thank you again for all of your signatures that the State decided to ignore instead make changes to policies. I will give you an example of the changes our State could and should make. When I worked for the San Marcos Police Department, the department was working on a cold case from 1975. Sheryl Ann Norris had been found tortured and murdered in her apartment. A sample of semen from the victim's body was found and uploaded into CODIS and a match was found to someone who was never in our radar. Luckily he was easy to find because he had served several sentences for sex crimes, the last being in California. In California, if they believe that you will be a danger to the public and will likely commit the same crimes against persons, you can be housed indefinitely. SMPD did not have to scour the country to look for the suspect because the State of California had prevented him from leaving their custody. If anyone has the patience and tenacity to introduce a bill to the State of Texas that would be amazing. As for me, I do not have the stamina or the respect for our State government in order to achieve a new bill from passing. Plus, I will be moving soon to a different state for health reasons. I do not know if Venne would have met the criteria, but it's likely that he would given now that we know he committed Capital Murder times 3, I am thinking he might have.
