Some of the highlights mentioned in the report, says the immediate urgency of creating an environment of safety and trust in schools:

o  Only 30 percent of school staff verified by police.

o  Child abuse cases up by 34 percent, the number of probe agencies, courts same.

o  Some teachers are alleging they are being unfairly blamed.

Not only in Delhi but across India, the cases of children being sexually abused in schools are rising day by day. Unfortunately, many of the cases are not getting lodged. Parents are scared and getting threats for not disclosing it.

So it's time to empower parents by making them equal stakeholders in the process of making schools safer.
