Update from the Civic Engagement Team

Hello Petition Supporters,

My name is Alexandra, and I'm on the Civic Engagement team at Change.org. Our team works to connect petition starters and supporters with the public officials who have the power to act on the issues you care about.

I spoke with Sydney Kim, Associate Director of Communications and Community Relations at Round Rock ISD, to make sure the district was aware of this petition calling for safe firearm storage information to be shared with families. In addition to this concern being raised to the correct administrators, Ms. Kim shared the following resources that are available to families and the community on this topic to elevate the work the district is doing on firearm safety:

🔗 Round Rock ISD Gun Safety Information: the district’s main page on gun safety.
🔗 Gun Safety Lock Instructions (PDF): instructions for the gun safety locks that Round Rock ISD Police provide at events and by community request.
🔗 Anonymous Reporting Information: how staff, students, and community members can submit safety concerns anonymously.
🔗 First-Semester Safety and Security Newsletter: sent to all staff, students, and the community.
🔗 Safety and Security Information: the district’s broader safety and security page.

We hope this helps consolidate information and we will continue to follow up and share any further updates as we recieve them.
