The more people that read and understand the seriousness of the event risks, the more Bulldogs that will be saved from danger.

No matter how much the Bulldog Derby tries to play down the risks, common sense for most of us bulldog owners is that this is not an athletic breed and entering a derby for the fastest dog creates an unacceptable risk. An outdoor race event in the desert, no matter the time of year is too risky for our gentle breed.

Please circulate the petition more with English Bulldog and French Bulldogs owners, even if they don't sign the petition they at least are reading about the concerns and can take that into consideration before they sign up for such a disastrous event.

The Bulldog community is "mighty and strong", and we will take care of our own the best that we can.

Those who want to exploit the breed have no place in the Bulldog community.
