Thank You, Philadelphia: 1,500 Signatures.

We are grateful to KYW News Radio and City Hall bureau chief, Pat Loeb, for their continued coverage of this issue, which has raised awareness throughout Philadelphia, finally pushing us over the 1,500 signatures mark.

Nearly 8,000 people have seen our petition, but we've only gained about 18.75% community support in signatures. While this is slightly disheartening, it also serves to demonstrate how a "small army" can indeed be powerful enough to proactively facilitate change.

We are also extend our appreciation to the Department of Parks and Recreation, and the Philadelphia Police Department. Despite the challenges they face, their continued efforts are making a meaningful difference. Because of their commitment, there has been a noticeable improvement along the Wissahickon Creek.  However, litter along the Wissahickon Creek remains a significant problem, especially broken glass and bottle caps embedded into the creekbed, and submerged in shallow water near the "shoreline."

Volunteer teams routinely clean up these areas, and if these unlawful swim parties cease permanently, we will be one step closer to acheiving our goals to Save The Wissahickon Creek.
Thank you for your support. Let's continue to stand in solidarity as a community and as a city and demand change to Save The Wissahickon Creek -  for all of us.
