A beautiful 5-year-old Aboriginal girl, known as Kumanjayi Little Baby, has had her life taken in a way that has shaken all of Australia.

She went missing in late April 2026 from a town camp near Alice Springs. A huge search began, with police, volunteers, and local trackers working tirelessly to find her. Tragically, her body was found just days later near the Todd River.

A 47-year-old man, Jefferson Lewis, has been arrested and charged with her murder. Police allege he was the last person seen with her, and that evidence links him to the scene. This case is still before the courts, and justice is still unfolding. 
This is more than a story — it’s a call for change.

Her loss has caused heartbreak, anger, and grief across the nation. Communities are calling for stronger protection for Indigenous children and safer living conditions for families.
