Hello supporters,
What a week this has been for the endometriosis community!
It started with a very special article from the Irish Examiner announcing that I am the first endometriosis patient in Ireland to be granted a legal cannabis license and prescription for chronic pain, which made the front page of the paper.
This was followed my many calls and emails from various radio stations and journalists and I had a very busy week of advocacy. I spoke on NewstalkFM, 96FM and TippFM. I also did a video interview with the Irish Times.
On Thursday the 8th of December 2022, I appeared live on National Television, RTE Prime Time to discuss my cannabis consumption as an endometriosis patient and helped to break the barriers and bust the stigma for all chronic pain patients in the process.
On Tuesday 13th December, I will appear again on National Television on Ireland AM at 8.15am and hope to get more in depth about my journey to Romania for surgery.
To say I am proud would be an understatement. I couldn't take no for an answer when it came to my own treatment. My determination has allowed other patients to feel empowered to advocate for themselves and that is the biggest, most powerful driver for why I do the work that I do.
This day next week I will land in Bucharest to face my fifth surgery (second specialist intervention) for Endometriosis. I need your help to get the funding over the line for this vital, life changing operation. If even half of the people who signed this petition could spare €1 - I would meet the target comfortably.
I know most people are really struggling and in that case, sharing the campaign with others is free and may make a huge difference. Please check out the GoFundMe campaign here and ensure to make any donations via this link only and not mistakenly to Change.Org as it's a separate entity.
As always, you can find all of my work at my linktree.
Thanks so much for all the support to date, I really appreciate the encouragement and will not stop until we ALL have adequate healthcare and safe access to cannabis.
I am struggling to keep up and juggle everything but know that once I have my surgery I will be doing much better again.
Warmest wishes and deepest thanks,
Aimee x
