Just horrifying what’s happening to children in our family courts. What we are being told about “reforms” and what’s actually happening are two completely different realities. In Australia’s Magellan List, or the specialist track for the most serious child sexual abuse cases, disclosures are ignored. Protective parents are punished with 3, 6, 9 month or even indefinite moratoriums - meaning no contact at all, and children are being ordered back into the care of the very people they thought they’d escaped.

When 9 out of 10 children tell the truth about sexual abuse, why are 8 out of 10 still sent back to their abuser? This is the devastating reality of Australia’s Family Court Magellan List. Instead of safety, children’s disclosures are dismissed, protective parents are punished, and perpetrators are rewarded with custody. 📖 Our new report — “Children Ignored: Closing the Magellan Gap” — exposes the data and amplifies survivor voices that reveal this systemic betrayal. 👉 Read the full report here: https://lnkd.in/gv6ZUwds 👉 Share it widely — every repost helps build awareness and create a safer future for all children. #ChildSafety #TransformFamilyCourt #MagellanGap #ProtectiveParents #StopFamilyViolence #SurvivorVoices #FromHarmToHealing

All the reforms are is a force for us to conform just a little bit more. Cover ups, corruption and coercive control by the grubberment.

Sometimes litigation is the only way to create change. It shouldn’t be this way, but perhaps if all those children and youth got to gather in massive law suits against the cities and provinces, or states and sued from all the harm impacts and cost of healing and therapy etc that will be required, perhaps rules will be changed. It’s devastating and so insidious that this is allowed to occur. When will the rights of the child outweigh the rights of the ‘parent’ ie abuser in this case.

There is not an emoji to show sadness anger or rage, but that’s exactly what I feel when reading this! I know children don’t “make up” SA … Too many times crimes against children are shoved under the table. Ignored, and parents accused of “teaching kids to lie”, it truly breaks my heart as I am a survivor of sexual assault, and knowing now because no one made it stop, I grew up feeling unsafe with everyone. It was happening in my own home, no where to run. And it cause irreparable damage to my brain. Adverse Childhood experiences last a life time. Especially if we don’t seek therapy to heal! #WhyIdothiswork

Dana Hanuszczak Too often they are taught silence, not lying, which is a lasting negative effect into and throughout adulthood. Too often, girls tell their mom's and when investigated and unfounded, the mothers choose to stay with the husband, believing in denial, the allegations were unfounded. This is emojis of sadness and rage and sickness in feelings is impossible to show. The effects of this result in damaged young adults that enter into abusive relationships or succumb to substance abuse and death. Then these same mothers, are the victims when they had neglected their daughters and this resulted in them losing a child. As a society or as a female, and as a therapist or as a friend, this is a point where we are left in a position of grieving and trying to support a parent who lost their daughter but delicately tread in silence knowing that these mothers chose themselves over their daughters using the excuse that CPS or DCF determines Unfounded, which is not sufficient or a correct determination and these mothers should have filed with their daughters and children the moment that the allegations were made. Nope, we cannot stop advocating and perhaps need to be more vocal towards mothers who choose their husband not child.

There is no accountability of disconnected judiciary with their obligations and duties of care, expectations and community standards of a judge so they make up their own Rules and Laws and to hell with vulnerable self rep FV victims and their Human Rights or fairness.
