As the Yulin Dog Meat "Festival" approaches, it’s easy to feel helpless against such cruelty.
Recently, a moving video went viral on Chinese social media, a story of 2 children who are devastated to learn that the boy's stepfather plans to slaughter and eat the stray dog they rescued. The children bravely take the dog and run. They almost get caught, but the boy's mother steps in and defends them (see photos above).
This is the new China. These are the voices we are here to amplify.

When this horrific "festival" began, 10,000 dogs were killed every year. Now, that number has dropped to approximately 3,000. While even one life lost is too many, this decline is proof that hearts and minds are changing.
For 13 years, your support has fueled our educational programs and built a dedicated "boots on the ground" team in Yulin. You are the reason this significant progress is possible.
Turning Sorrow into Solidarity
Between now and June 21st, we aren't just mourning; we are fighting back with love. We’ve launched the International Pet Appreciation Movement to flood social media with the compassion the Chinese activists need to see.
