We’d really like to thank everyone who has reached out in support of our situation after yesterday’s announcement. It can be really scary being publicly vulnerable and telling your truth. Especially when you are still healing from traumatic wounds and multiple people have voiced it could be ‘too risky’.
As our supporters know, sloths are not just our work, they are our LIFE. We live and breathe the conservation and welfare of sloths and this situation has not only been traumatic for the sloths but also for us humans who have regularly sacrificed our own welfare to ALWAYS put the sloths first.
We don’t know if the decisions made in our case were based on ignorance or bad intentions, we just know that the sloths were thriving in our care because of our expertise and scientific research - and now we fear for them.
Your words of encouragement mean a lot at a time when our faith in humanity was at an all-time low. You are our silver lining! We want to continue our mission to make the world a better place for sloths and we need everyone’s help to do that.
