Despite it being illegal under the Volstead act, many printing companies, such as Epson, have implemented firmware updates on their printers, forcing consumers to buy their wasteful and expensive ink cartridges.   

While there are some legal battles currently ensuing, most are locked at a standstill, with very little progress being made in either direction.   This petition seeks to bring these problems to the forefront of the public eye, and take a step forward towards stopping the "enshitification" of products for US consumers.
