In addition to the ethical concerns, we must address the grim reality of the small and cramped tanks that confine marine animals in aquariums. For these intelligent, wide-ranging creatures, these tanks are like prisons, where they’re denied the freedom to swim long distances and interact with their natural environment. Dolphins and whales, for instance, are known to cover vast distances in the open ocean, and in captivity, they’re forced into enclosures that represent a mere fraction of their natural habitat.

These small tanks hinder the physical and psychological well-being of these animals. The confinement leads to stress, illness, and abnormal behaviors, which are painful to witness. We must remember that a small tank means a restricted existence, depriving these animals of their natural instincts, like hunting, socializing, and exploration.

The conditions in which marine animals are kept are far from resembling their natural homes. These artificial environments can never replicate the vastness and complexity of the ocean. As compassionate beings, it is our responsibility to challenge this practice and advocate for marine life to be given the space and freedom they deserve.

By signing this petition, you are not only standing up against the cruelty of captivity but also speaking out against the harsh reality of small and cramped tanks that cause immeasurable suffering. It’s time to take action and give these remarkable creatures the chance to thrive in their true home: the open sea
