Good morning everyone,

We want to inform everyone that as of today, we have reached over 500 signatures on this petition to end Manhattanville College’s neglect of its students and staff. Everyone’s unbridled support means the world to us, and each new signee strengthens our cause to make long-lasting change at Manhattanville.

We started this petition because we were fed up with our college’s inability to provide for the well-being of the faculty and staff at the school. There hasn’t come a day where we have not heard of a student expressing their disappointment at the school (whether in regard to security, living conditions, finances, nutrition, etc.), often followed by a wish that the school year finishes so that they may finally transfer from the institution. We know that Manhattanville has so much potential, and it is time for the administration to chart a course toward the achievement of that potential by treating its students and professors with the respect and dignity that we deserve.

We have been hard at work reaching out to students and staff in order to plan out our next steps. We are currently working on an Instagram page attached to a Google Form where students can submit their concerns toward the school and have a platform through which we can make our voices heard.  We are also in the early stages of organizing certain events through which everyone will have the opportunity to take action, so stay tuned for that!

In order to form an identity around this movement, we have decided to call it the United Valiant Coalition, a movement focused on advancing any efforts to make Manhattanville College a better educational institution for everyone. While the Instagram page is still being set up, you can follow us @unitedvaliantcoalition in order to stay tuned for our first batch of content where we will lay out further details about what our steps are moving forward.

Finally, we would like to thank our Manhattanville Professors for their dedication to our education even in the face of possible termination. You guys mean the world to us and we are grateful for your part in helping us develop as individuals and educating us “to be ethical and socially-responsible leaders in a global community”. You have done so much for us, and we hope to express our gratitude and support for you through these efforts.

Warmest regards, and see you soon,

-Victor Manuel Jarquin and Maxwell Plenby
