Petition updateEnd the abuse of Aboriginal children. #CloseDonDaleNow.#CloseDonDaleNow: Join the Friday rallies

I’m overjoyed to see that more than 11,000 people have joined the fight to #CloseDonDaleNow. Every Friday our coalition is organizing rallies outside the gates of Don Dale to demand its closure. If you’re in Darwin, please join us.

Else, please keep sharing the petition and urging others to join the fight.

Don Dale is dangerous. The Royal Commission into youth justice in the Northern Territory recommended that Don Dale close, and be replaced with a smaller, therapeutic facility — in 2018!

Instead of spending millions on expanding prisons, the NT Government needs to do everything they can to keep kids out of prison.

We have Indigenous and community led prevention and diversion programs that address the underlying causes of crime and are more effective than prison. We need your support to make the government listen

Please share the petition. If you’re in Darwin, join us for the Friday rally this week.

Thank you for your support. Together we will #CloseDonDaleNow.

Peace, Love and Deep Gratitude,

Toni Childs
