Dear Michael Gove
In memory of Mark Pearce who tragically died by suicide due to Clarion Housing Association and in honour of his family, please as the Secretary of State for the LUHC take mental health and suicide seriously to save future lives as Mark Pearce is not the first tenant to die by suicide and unfortunately he won’t be the last as landlords like Clarion Housing Association will continue weaponising mental health conditions against tenants while discriminating and blaming tenants for problems created and caused by their landlords.
The Housing Ombudsman does not take mental health nor suicide seriously with their own actions often resulting in tenants health worsening. The ombudsman supports and helps landlords not tenants and social housing landlords know how to play the ombudsman in a way that suits them both to avoid accountability and deny being the cause or reason for tenants ending up suicidal or tragically dead.
Social housing landlords like Clarion, L&Q and Housing for Women are very well known for causing serious harm and damage to tenants health with the INTENT on causing their mental health to significantly decline in order to break the tenant and make them give up, give in and in some cases left to die.
With landlords blaming funding cuts as justification for the housing crisis and lack of money for repairs despite charging extortionate service charges as reason for delays in starting repairs and dealing with complaints while asking the government for additional funding, the same housing associations have no financial limits when it comes to having multiple legal cases, paying £10000s to Devonshires Solictors to bully, intimidate and threaten tenants, delaying cases to avoid admitting liability and taking responsibility for their negligence while using their lawyers to cause further harm and suffering to tenants who complain.
The Housing Ombudsman like the housing associations and councils, reported on social media show the true extent of how harmful and unhealthy landlords are for tenants because it’s their direct actions and behaviours, their ignorant and arrogant attitudes to mental health that pushes people to their deaths.
