Henrico County officially cancels Flock contract

Today Henrico County officials announced they have Cancelled their contract with Flock (Henrico Citizen) due to safety concerns and public outcry (Thats us!), However it seems so far that they have no intent of banning ALPRs in general, nor any intent of forcing Flock to remove the cameras themselves. Infact, it seems that the Flock cams may simply get replaced by a different brand, based on the fact the linked article says that HPD will "review 'other options that will continue the division’s operational effectiveness,' "
this petition will NOT be marked as a "victory", or closed, and it will not be until Henrico County officially bans ALPRs and ALL ALPR cameras, from any and all companies producing them, are removed and banned from Henrico County.
Please continue to speak at county board meetings and to BoS members about this topic and keep doing so until ALPRs are banned in Henrico, as we have not been freed from the surveillance state until ANY AND ALL ALPRs are removed from the county.
