March Fourth has started 2024 stronger than ever. Here's why!

At the end of last year, the GOSAFE Act was introduced by U.S. Senators Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.), Angus King (I-Maine), Mark Kelly (D-Ariz), and Michael Bennet (D-Colo.). Since then, our team at March Fourth has spent ample time on Capitol Hill to garner more support for this bill that will regulate firearms based on the lethality of their internal mechanisms, as opposed to focusing on cosmetic features that manufacturers can easily modify. It is a federal assault weapons ban with a pragmatic approach to addressing gun violence while also protecting constitutional rights; this is something we feel both sides of the aisle can get behind!

In January, in collaboration with March Fourth, Senator Heinrich's office hosted a roundtable conversation to discuss the need for the GOSAFE Act. We brought influential voices to the table (those of Melissa Joan Hart, Sarah Spain, Whitney Port and more) and heard compelling testimonials as to why these weapons of war must remain out of the hands of civilians. Just this week, we were back on the Hill once again, urging members of Congress to back this life saving legislation.
