I have had a couple of nibbles from Texas politicians recently but nothing worth mentioning with any detail, not yet anyway. I've had nibbles before but I have yet to land one. I REALLY wish I had more of an update, instead I'm only asking for even more from the supporters of this petition - the squeaky wheel gets the grease, so let's SQUEAK A LITTLE LOUDER! If you have commented on, shared an emoticon, liked, or shared this page then that is AWESOME but I desperately need petition signatures & comments, ESPECIALLY from those who live in Texas. If you truly believe that it is wrong to treat kids in this manner them please show it, let's make sure this Change happens THIS year! Politicians respond to issues that get public attention, they are inclined to ignore the rest . . . it's just not worth their effort and unlike to affect their vote. This Change will not happen without YOUR help. Please continue SHARING this page and if you are on Twitter please tweet a link to the petition as well. I created a Twitter account solely to promote this petition because I do no like to see kids being treated inappropriately and I feel that this meets that criteria, not to mention the waste of good food likely purchased with our hard-earned tax dollars! On Twitter I've been using the hashtag #NoSchoolMealsDenied you might find a "few" tweets there. The Texas legislature is on Twitter at various hashtags, I'm SURE they'd love to hear from a few thousand Texans - #txlege #85thLegislature #TXLegeBills #TexasHouse Many schools and school districts have Facebook and/or Twitter pages, feel free to ask them publicly about their school meal policies, sure they are available on the school webpages but they don't reach the same audience that a Facebook post would. If you know any Texas politicians then please, shoot them a link, let them know this is important to you. Know a teacher or two? Fire away, this issue needs the widest dissemination possible. Nearly every television news station has a Facebook and/or Twitter page.
