Texas will continue its annual Summer Meal Program this year.

Petition supporters, first of all, thank you for supporting this petition! We are still nine months away from the Texas legislature meeting in January 2017 and potentially taking action on this petition; in the meantime please continue sharing and commenting on this petition effort, the more public support for the petition the more likely the Texas legislators are to take notice and take action come January 2017. As they have in recent years past, Texas will be continuing their Summer Feeding Program this summer. Texas residents can simply follow the attached link and input their zip code and a date in order to find a location where their children can eat. This program does not begin until school ends so you will have to enter a date around the first week of June, several locations begin serving meals on June 6th. It seems odd but based on current Texas law, a student under the age of 18 stands a greater chance of getting a guaranteed school meal during the summer than they do during the school year! This petition hopes to address the school issue so that students are guaranteed a school meal.
