In the first three months of 2020 a total of 77,999 cattle were exported from the Port of Townsville, 59,316 of these were slaughter cattle exported  to Vietnam to be killed while 18,683 were feeder cattle exported  to overseas feed lots (16, 874  to indonesia and 1,809 to the Philippines).  Despite falling cattle prices the trade is continuing.
