Petition updateEnd ICE operations in Rhode IslandFear Can’t Be the Reason We Do Nothing

I guess some people are hesitant because they don't want to risk saying something that they'd later regret, or being judged. Truthfully, that excuse is quite tiresome. Some have even shared with me that they agree with my points but when it comes to taking a stand on the issues that matter most, the ones that affect the people they say they love, they end up doing nothing.

I understand the concern about being noticeable or 'getting yourself put on a list, ' especially after seeing how immigration enforcement halts have been implemented and rolled back. Those fears are very common. However, what breaks my heart is to see people who care yet are afraid to take that courageous step which could be the solution to their dilemma. It looks like they want to be nice and say they understand the problem, but not do anything to solve it.

Of course, I'm not denying that their anxieties are reasonable, what I'm saying is that I refuse to let dictate me what to stand by. There are issues that are hurting people in my community and these are not just someone else's problems to worry about.
