Action Needed - "Return to Work" Agreement being Updated NOW

Starting this week, Entertainment Unions and Producers will begin renegotiating work conditions and COVID protocols for film sets around the world, under the “Return to Work” agreement.

We need all workers discriminated against by vaccine mandates and distressed by excessive restrictions that do not align with the rest of society to reach out to union leadership and speak out TODAY.

COVID is endemic, and we are going to be living with it for years to come. Everyone has access to vaccines and treatments, and we now know which policies help to keep productions safe (surveillance testing) and those that don’t (unethical vaccine mandates that don’t stop transmission, separate bathrooms for the unvaccinated).

We have all gone above and beyond to get shows made, incurring additional stress and logistics with any change in work hours, complexity of scripts, or compensation. It is time for our “Return to Work” agreement to evolve into a pathway for us to “Return to Normal.” Metrics and protocols must be updated to reflect a post-vaccine, post-Omicron world.

Whatever recommendations our particular scientific advisors make, they must be weighed against workers’ rights and the impact to our daily work environment. The membership deserve a say in this important matter. We should hear the proposals in advance, not simply learn about the details when a new agreement is announced at the end of the month.

When emailing or calling your local’s officials, let them know that hundreds of fellow workers share your concerns, and over 2500 people have signed our change.org petition.

It is very likely that whatever they decide during this negotiation will become the rules for months to come. Please take a minute to support your fellow workers.
