I'm having a tough time finding the words to describe this moment. Earlier today, I was named as one of TIME Magazine's 100 Most Influential People. I truly cannot believe it. This is one of the greatest honors of my life. Joining this honor as one of my life's highlights is the journey that we have been on together. Without your support, there is no way that we would have had the kind of impact that we've had to date to fight FGM. Together, we've raised global awareness of the issue and pushed toward concrete changes I could have never dreamed of. I want to be clear: this award is not about me. It is a special moment of global recognition of accomplishment by us -- this community of supporters from around the world who have been and remain committed to stopping FGM for good. We all know that there is much more work to be done. But let's use this moment to reflect on what we've accomplished together. Let's use it as inspiration to keep fighting to protect more women, children and families. This is yet another stop in our long journey ahead. I am forever indebted to you for your continued support.
