Hi Kyle,

Thank you for your email and Andrew has asked me to respond on his behalf whilst he is travelling back to the electorate today from Canberra. 

Firstly, he said well done on taking the initiative in highlighting this issue for North Queenslanders and getting the petition up and running.

Currently, it is Queensland Legislation that does not allow other electricity providers to power households/businesses. 

I have copied in Dale Last MP whom is the State Government Member for Burdekin – his office will be able to assist you further with the petition and advise if there is any movement on changing this legislation already. 

Andrew would be more than happy to support it where possible.
