DOG CHAINING - WHERE DO WE STAND NOW? For nearly two years animal welfare advocates have lobbied Nassau County Commissioners to upgrade it's animal ordinance to prohibit unattended dog tethering. Finally, a revised ordinance has been submitted to commissioners that allows "attended-tethering-only." On June 11, 2018 at the James Page Government Center in Yulee, FL at 6:00 PM the commissioner is scheduled to hear public comments regarding the revised ordinance. Judging from previous meetings, I expect there will be people who will speak in opposition of attended-tethering-only. What you can do to help get dogs off chains. Attend the meeting on June 11th. Before June 11th, send a brief email to the commissioners asking them to approve county-wide, attended-tethering-only and require dogs be restrained when in open trucks/trailers.
