We are hopeful that 2021 will be the year of meaningful change as we envision a future where we can convert the longstanding pain and suffering experienced by Black Federal Public Service Workers into an opportunity to understand and break systemic racist barriers within Canada’s Public Service.  

The Canadian government has already acknowledged that Systemic racism is a reality. It is real. The psychological and emotional pain is also real. The disappointment is real. The loss is real. And the stories are real.  

We ask that you take a moment to watch Jennifer’s story. Jennifer dedicated 30 years of her life to the Canadian Federal Public Service and was granted only one promotion despite many efforts.  

Jennifer Phillips retired today. Jennifer’s promotional opportunity is gone but her story remains.
