Thanks to all those that signed this petition to try to save this house from demolition.
Sadly, the house was demolished in about 3 hours last week.
Of note, there is Reconsideration Request regarding the validity of the demolition permit and an argument that the entire 500 Lot Area in Charlottetown remains a Designated Heritage Preservation Area. The response from the City is to be presented at the August 5th Planning Board Meeting. A letter was sent to the PEI Housing Corporation and provincial Minister requesting they delay the demolition until after the City's report had been submitted. There was no acknowledgement of or reply to the email request.
A second point is that the City has issued a Footing permit even though the Major Variances required for the proposed building expired Feb 15, 2024 per the Zoning and Development bylaw.
