After just over one week, my latest petition to Andrea Leadsom, trying to end caged hen farming in the uk, has reached over 50,000 signatures! For more updates, please follow me on Twitter @LucyGavaghan . 50,000 is an incredible milestone to have reached! To put the scale of the number into perspective, 50,000 people could fill the O2 arena 2 and a half times over, fill Wembley arena 4 times, or fill the London Apollo theatre over 60 times! Clearly, this is a huge amount of people who all want the same thing. But it's not just individuals that agree, all the major UK supermarkets have already agreed to go cage-free by 2025, in addition to a growing list of smaller chains and popular restaurants joining the free range movement. Evidently, this still isn't enough to prompt a response from the government. This is why it is so important that we share this petition with as many people as possible, so that we can demonstrate just how many people want to see caged hen farming end.
