On the 14th September the Northern Summer Ban ends, this means live export will start shipping sheep again. The ridiculous part of this rule is that during the NSB period cattle were still shipped into the northern summer….
Mehreen Faruqi and Jed Goodfellow are trying to get the summer ban extended, Mehreen is taking it to the senate again shortly, let’s hope they are successful.

I understand sheep suffer heat stress more easily but for goodness sake all animals suffer on these ships regardless of the season. 
For me one thing that really heats me up is the fact these animals are shipped to feed a family or a village yet if they perish before arriving at their destination, they’ve not fed 1 person, apart from that there is the fact many of those who perish die in horrific circumstances and their bodies thrown overboard into the ocean. I am not too sure many people have made the connection but all that animal waste dumped into our oceans, it impacts marine life and can also impact other waterways, a rotting carcass tossed overboard cannot be good. The amount of methane  released on these ships is unbelievable, PETA Asia did a report that is astounding, when you read the emissions it’s a no brainer that this savagery must end.
