On Saturday the 2nd of July, 30-35 people made the effort to meet up at Federation Square and take a Stand Against Live Animal Exports. These people are selfless and I’m forever grateful.

To those people who made the effort THANK YOU, you have helped the petition obtain over 1600 signatures since Saturday. It is very hard to gauge on the day how well it went but seeing the petition grown substantially is testament that Awareness Days work. I often doubt myself and the impact prior to the day, but when I see the petition grow so quickly afterwards, it is justifies all the effort.
After this trip though, I’m not too sure I will be travelling long distances to do Awareness Days again. I cannot afford it financially, I am at the point to do awareness days I have to start asking for donations and I feel like a failure doing that, but sadly that is my option.

We drove 826 kilometres to get to Melbourne, it cost us over  $1100 for accommodation and fuel, and then we had to eat. It works out rather expensive especially when I’m only working casual hours. Our trip home - 863 kilometres, took 12 hours due to extreme flooding in NSW - 12 hours cramped in a ute because my little Nissan pulsar does not fit all the Stand Against Live Animal Exports gear and a passenger, so the ute it was.
My husband and can honestly sympathise with the animals that are crammed onto these trucks and ships, we stopped regularly and spoke about how we could stop anytime and have a walk around but the animals can’t. We saw a few animal transportation trucks which made us stop whinging about our discomfort and pain for a short while. We were both in a lot of pain on arrival there and home.
On Monday before we left for Melbourne my husband collapsed and had to be taken by ambulance to the emergency department, he spent the night in hospital, 2 days later at 5am we set off for Melbourne, because we could not let the animals down.

I have another Awareness Day in Sydney on the 20th of August and I will do a picket line at the lodge in Canberra around October, but after that I will have to see how my finances are going and if I can afford to continue doing Awareness Days.
I urge everyone to PLEASE keep on fighting for these animals, just because Anthony Albanese said he would end Live Animal Export doesn’t mean we can relax, we all know the farmers have a hold over these politicians.
The Agriculture Ministers email address is senator.watt@aph.gov.au.
If you can start sharing the August Awareness Day details, we need more people to help these animals..x
I am so sorry I have to ask for either a one off donation or a smaller amount eavh fortnight to be a Live Sheep Exports to continue to run Stand Against Live Animal Exports and raise awareness.

One lady so impressed with what I do she decided to donate to another end live exports organisations in a monthly basis. While I’m not saying she shouldn’t, but I don’t get any government funding, I have been totally self funded, but now I’m asking for help. I’m so sorry, I hate asking for help. Thank You if you’re happy to help, the Stand Against Live Animal Exports awesome Account is BSB - 062585 and Account number is 10948772 …
