Melbourne Stand Against Live Animal Exports Awareness Day is all sorted.

I’m coming down to Melbourne again and on Saturday the 2nd of July from 11:30 - 1:30 we have access to the Flinders Street Station side of Federation Square to educate people. We are allowed for people to go across outside the railway station and hand out flyers. I’m extremely excited this time knowing we have better access to the public. I will be bringing everything I had last time so I need people to hold all the banners and also people to hand out flyers. PLEASE if you have the opportunity come along and help us, help the animals. (in case of bad weather, we will probably meet under the railway awning at the far end. Let’s hope it’s wonderful weather.
If anyone wants T shirts for the day, please order and pay now, I’m not allowed to sell anything on the day.. Tees are $40 and that’s with tracked postage.

Just because Labor are in office doesn’t automatically mean Live Animal Export will end soon, in fact I read it will be phased out over 5 years. One lady phoned AA and was told a 3 year phase out…3 or 5 years is still far too long for my liking - we need to bring this issue into the spotlight and keep it there.

The Summer Ban starts tomorrow- so until September 14th no sheep will leave our shores for any other country for slaughter BUT cattle are still sent, so it’s a partial summer ban…appalling I think!

Last week Bako was on Fremantle wharf where people have lunch etc, he gave out a few flyers and educated those people. One man he spoke to used to be a shearer, he spoke of how Live Animal Export should end too.
This is the type of educating we need more of. Handing out flyers, talking to people to make them aware of this industry…again I cannot stress enough there are far more people unaware of Live Animal Exports than those who know about it, it’s up to us to educate them…all!

Sydney - I have organised another Awareness Day, it will be August 20th, 11:30-1:30 at Town Hall again, this time I will have back up batteries for the PA system, last time was a nightmare.
I am also doing up a fact sheet, it should be ready in the next week or so, this fact sheet I’m going to ask if people would be happy to receive it and then forward it on to their local MP, Anthony Albanese and a few other supplied email addresses..
But more on that soon
Take Care and Stand Against Live Animal Exports xx Lisa
