I’m gob smacked at the number of people who have signed the petition in the past week or 2. It makes me realise the Stand Against Live Animal Exports Protest/Awareness Days work!
Last Saturday in Federation Square, Melbourne, we had around 50 people show their support for an End To Live Animal Exports. Although we weren’t allowed to hand out flyers, some did xx, the number of people who have since signed the petition is astounding, Awareness Days work!
Thank you to all of those wonderful Melbourne People who came along for the animals.
I would like to Thank Gwynnyth from the AMIEU who spoke about Job losses, animal abuse and how the AMIEU held a picket line protest on the ships in 1973/74 when Live Animal Export really took off. Also a huge thank you to Cynthia who read Janice from Sydney’s Speech, the speeches covered it all - Animal Abuse, Political Issues, Corruption and Job Losses - it all related to Live Animal Export.
The long agonising drive (11 hours with stops) is worth it if we can get more people educated about Live Animal Export.
WE ALL NEED TO DO OUR BIT, then we can end this filthy, brutal trade but it is up to everyone to keep the momentum of raising awareness going... I am PLEADING with everyone regardless of location to put an Orange Ribbon out - in memory of all Live Exported Animals.
Aussies this is even more important for us, we have a NSW state election happening on September 4th and a federal election will follow soon after that. I’m making up small laminated notes to tie to the ribbon, I do ask if anyone wants one they pay $1.40 for them, it’s for postage and to cover my costs.
The next Sydney Town Hall Protest/Awareness Day is on the 19th of June - 11:30 start, 1 pm finish. Please if you can come along and lend a voice, these gorgeous, loveable animals need us..
