Hi Everyone

Thank you for bearing with me recently. I did have a viral infection which took 8 days to get over and then I my best friend of over 40 years passed away.                                                                                              I also want to sincerely apologise to anyone who did not get the memo that last Saturday was cancelled. The state I was in I wouldn’t have been any good to anyone or the animals.                                               So please accept my apology, I’m looking at the 8th of December for the next Awareness Day, more next update. Flyers have arrived, I’ll get into getting them to supporters this week xx                                         The Awassi Express has had a name change, it is now called The Anna Marra - how bloody ridiculous, do they think a name change is going to be a comfort to the thousands of animals who had died in horrific circumstances on this floating piece of junk.

I received this email from Nick McKim, let’s hope November 26th is a MONUMENTAL DAY. -

**Thanks again for your interest and advocacy to end Australia’s barbaric and deadly live sheep export trade.                                       Just a quick update to let you know that yesterday the Australian Greens wrote to the Prime Minister demanding a free vote on our live export bill, which passed the Senate on the 10th of September.

The bill would immediately ban live sheep shipments to the Middle East during the Northern Summer, and then completely ban shipments after a five year phase out period.

The Greens are also calling on the Prime Minister to ensure that Liberal MPs that cross the floor to support the Bill and vote with their conscience are not punished by the Liberal party. In particular, Ms Sussan Ley MP and Ms Sarah Hendersen MP risk losing their outer ministry if they cross the floor. You can read the letter here.

The recently released Moss Review has shown that the system has once again failed animals and is based on money, not animal welfare. No amount of regulation can ever make this practice acceptable and the time for second chances for the live exports industry is over.

By not allowing the bill to be debated or for a free vote within the Liberal party, the democratic process and the wishes of millions of Australians are being disregarded.  We are therefore calling for the Bill to be debated and voted on during the week of 26 November.

Looking for other ways to help?  Can you contact your local MP and tell them you want the Bill to be debated during the week of 26 November and that the Liberal Party allow a free vote.

Forward this email onto five friends and family and ask them to contact their local MP as well.  Thank you again for being a voice for animals and for calling on Australian politicians to put a stop to this cruelty.

Only by working together can we end the live exports trade once and for all.

 Warm regards

Nick
